Биография
Леонс Перре начинал свою карьеру как театральный актер. Работал в различных театрах, в том числе в "свободном театре" Андре Антуана. Много гастролировал по Европе.

В 1909 году Перре несколько месяцев работает в Санкт-Петербурге; на обратном пути во Францию он останавливается в Берлине, где принимает участие в спектакле "Сирано де Бержерак". Молодого актера заметил директор берлинского филиала Гомона, который предложил ему подписать контракт. Так Леонс стал кинематографистом.

В Берлине Перре снял несколько короткометражных фильмов, после чего уехал в Париж, в главный филиал кинокомпании. Много и успешно снимался, но вскоре, благодаря своему берлинскому опыту, Перре пересаживается в режиссерское кресло.

Перре приобретает известность как автор и исполнитель комических серий про Леонса. Настоящая слава режиссеру пришла после выхода в свет картины "Дитя Парижа".

В 1914 году как и многие другие французские кинематографисты (Фейад, Дюран, Линдер, Бозетти ) призывается на фронт, но вскоре его комиссуют по состоянию здоровья.

В 1917 году уезжает в США. Ставит там ряд картин и открывает собственную студию. В 1921 году возвращается в Европу.

На протяжении всех 20-х годов Перре был ведущим французским кинорежиссером, оставившим след в истории не только французского кино, но и мировой кинематографии.
